National Dog Fighting Awareness Day

nana and i

Today I’d like to share some #GetTough selfies to help spread awareness on dog fighting. I met this precious little lady by the name of Nana. She’s 5 years old pitbull terrier rescue. It’s needless to say her background is a bit vague and she may have been abandoned once before. She’s a total sweetheart, though, wanting nothing more than to play and be rubbed.

I wanted to show her off because her breed gets the worst reputation for dog fighting. I’m just here to say that their minds are free of that kind of violence until they are shown. Without a doubt, these dogs are absolutely loyal & can be very loving. Getting tough on dog fighting means putting the blame where it belongs and creating awareness that it isn’t the dog who chooses to “dog fight.”
